Adventures in Envelopes

Today, I would like to celebrate one of my best friends, Kylie. Today is her birthday and of course I'm going to use that as an excuse to practice calligraphy on my new, beautiful, mint envelopes and note cards I just got in the mail.

News flash: I mess up. A lot.

I don’t even want to think about how many pieces of paper I went through because I kept messing up. But! With practice, comes knowledge. I realized that maybe my nib that I have been using this whole time was probably a nib that should never be used again. Once I replaced it with one that was shiny and new, all the sudden it was smooth sailing. Mostly.

Now, I’m not saying it’s perfect…but there were no obvious blobs of ink and I didn’t knock any of the ascenders into decenders from the line above (and let me tell you, it’s difficult). I am pretty satisfied with the result. At least for now! I’m not expecting to be a master calligrapher in 8 days.

So please help me in wishing Kylie a very happy birthday! She is one of my favorite people on this planet. Love you, Tiwn!

Thanks for reading!

XOXO,

P

Don't worry, I removed the house number. No stalkers, please.
