Christmas Greetings

Hello all! Sorry it has been a while since my last post but I have been super busy working on some fun and exciting things! One of which is my Etsy Shop!

I've had a bunch of commissions from some of the projects I have posted on here and questions on when and if I will be selling stuff online, so here it is! For future use, just click the 'SHOP' button in my top navigation.

I would also like to introduce my Christmas Greetings Collection. These are some of the phrases I chose (from a very long list of ideas) to hand letter and digitize for the holidays. I think my personal favorite is the 'Merry Christmas ya Filthy Animal' one, but I am biased since I have the sweatshirt.

If you see something you like visit my Etsy! I have the prints, card sets and individual cards on sale as well as some stuff from my past posts.

As always, thanks for reading & stay beautiful!

XOXO,

Thanksgiving

It is that time of year, y'all! I hope everyone is prepared for the travelling, the crazy weather and the consumption of food.

I was raised that every gift requires a thank you note. I don't think I could possibly think about how many thank you notes I've written in my life. Lets just say a lot... It is one thing that I am proud my mother taught me and that I continue today.

For this Thanksgiving I want to give back to y'all and do another giveaway! I hand lettered a couple 'thank you' phrases below and if you comment below (or on Instagram or Facebook) write/tag someone in your life who you are thankful for & why and which print is your favorite and you might just get it! If you are interested in buying a print for $15 please contact me here or PM me on Facebook! I'm working on my Etsy site soon, guys. Sooooon.

Also, thank you from the bottom of my heart for keeping up with me and my work. It means the world to me! I hope all of you have a very safe holiday weekend!

Thanks for reading & stay beautiful!

Mrs. Campesi TOMS

I have been doing custom TOMS for a few years now and I was so happy when my best friend of 20 years, Maggie, told me she wanted some for her wedding in April! Over the summer I took some Engagement photos for her and her fiancé that I ended up using for their Save the Date. Their colors are mint and pink and so I used them in the flowery design along with her soon-to-be new last name and the date of the wedding.

These two are so compatible on every level it's disgusting. They are already there for each other in good times and bad. I legitimately don't know how y'all didn't find each other sooner, but man I am so happy y'all did. I know my other half is in good hands with Mario. I cannot wait for this wedding and especially standing up there watching these two say 'I do'! Love you both.

Thanks for reading & stay beautiful!

XOXO

Chalkboards Part One

Because I know there's going to be more than one.

Chalking is pretty cool and is peaking a lot of peoples interest nowadays. I picked it up a few months ago because my office has an entire chalkboard painted wall that was begging to be drawn on. I had a lot of fun with it! It is completely different than pen on paper. First of all, chalk is way thicker than any  micron pen. So, having a large surface, like an entire wall, is preferable.

I recently stumbled upon these large pieces of chipboard and decided to spray paint them with chalkboard paint and chalk it up.

Sam and I have recently had a lot of visitors staying with us so for the first board I wanted to write a little welcome note. "Hey there & welcome to our humble abode. We are so happy to have you here." Learned a lot while doing this one. It's pretty hard to take back mistakes with chalk. I used some q-tips and water to go back and try to correct some things, but that only got me so far.

The second board might be my favorite. It's lyrics from Ray Lamontagne's song "You are the best thing (that ever happened to me)." I say it quite a bit. This will eventually be hung up in the bedroom!

Lastly, my 'for rent' board. I love me some drop caps, and when used in a small word I think they can be quite beautiful and look like a line design if you step back. Yes, this is a shameless plug for my services, but watch out Downtown Savannah, I'll be darkening all of your doorways soon to sell my skills.

Check them all out below!

I love you and I like you.

You’re all I need. I love you and I like you.
— Leslie Knope

For those of you who don't know me well, I am a big fan of the show Parks & Recreation. Two characters on the show Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) and Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott) have this little phrase they like to say to each other, 'I love you and I like you.' Sigh and melt.

So one day (before the blog) I was messing around during my lunch break and I started to letter this little saying Leslie says during her vows in a heart and posted it to Instagram. I started getting some positive feedback, so I decided to go ahead and digitize it. I really like how it came out but I'm always so back and forth with color so I need your help. Which colors? Highlight 'love and like'? With a heart? Please let me know. Much appreciated! Who knows...some lucky commenter may get an art print in the mail! (Winky face) Who knows (again), this may be up for purchase soon. (Winky face again)

Thanks for reading and stay beautiful!

XOXO,

Paige

P.S. Check out this link to see the video of the quote from the show. It'll melt your heart!

Adventures in Envelopes

Today, I would like to celebrate one of my best friends, Kylie. Today is her birthday and of course I'm going to use that as an excuse to practice calligraphy on my new, beautiful, mint envelopes and note cards I just got in the mail.

News flash: I mess up. A lot.

I don’t even want to think about how many pieces of paper I went through because I kept messing up. But! With practice, comes knowledge. I realized that maybe my nib that I have been using this whole time was probably a nib that should never be used again. Once I replaced it with one that was shiny and new, all the sudden it was smooth sailing. Mostly.

Now, I’m not saying it’s perfect…but there were no obvious blobs of ink and I didn’t knock any of the ascenders into decenders from the line above (and let me tell you, it’s difficult). I am pretty satisfied with the result. At least for now! I’m not expecting to be a master calligrapher in 8 days.

So please help me in wishing Kylie a very happy birthday! She is one of my favorite people on this planet. Love you, Tiwn!

I'm Ready

If we wait until we are ready, we will be waiting for the rest of our lives.

First of all, thank you for clicking! I know even I am guilty of seeing something on social media, reading the first three words and keep scrolling along my merry way.

I have been contemplating starting a blog for a little while now and I figured, why wait? I want to share what I am doing and I couldn’t think of a better way to do that than starting a blog.

Many students who went to SCAD said it stood for ‘Sleep Comes After Death’ - and although I made it through without pulling a single all-nighter, I did work my butt off. Once I graduated, weekends would come around and I would just nervously sit on my couch thinking, “What am I forgetting to do? I should be doing something right now. How am I not busy?!”

I love, love, love hand-lettering. I think it takes something processed and turns it into something personal. Having something hand written on paper is so special in a world where everything is emailed and posted on Facebook.

So, if you are interested, I’d love to share what I am doing in my free time with you. Expect a lot of quotes, typography and commission work. I want to keep it fun and upbeat.

For today I have selected one of my favorite quotes and put it in the first person. I couldn't have thought of a better saying to start this whole adventure off and I think these words are something that could be applied to people in a myriad of situations. For me, it is the bravery of getting started on this blog today.

Thanks for reading!

XOXO, P
